I fully understand. I was stationed at Ft Benning after I got back from oiverseas for my last nine months in the Army (I couldn’t get an early out for school because I went to Kent State which closed down), and we used to head over to Alabama on occassion. Man, gas stations had three restrooms — men, women, and “coloreds.” There were separate drinking fountains for African-Americans, and George Wallace was the most progressive guy running for governor. What a place!
